Job Description – Store Area Supervisor
The Store Area Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the daily operations, merchandising, and overall efficiency of assigned store areas. Working closely under the guidance of a Team Leader, this position ensures smooth freight flow, accurate merchandising, and an outstanding customer experience. It is also a growth-focused role, designed to prepare associates for future leadership positions within OSJL.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by following the T.R.E.A.T. model.

Act as a bridge between customers and corporate customer service, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.

Support company-wide initiatives, including loyalty programs, special promotions, and community donations.

Develop and manage effective work schedules for your designated area.

Lead, motivate, and guide team members to complete tasks efficiently while fostering a positive, collaborative environment.

Assist with the training and development of store associates to encourage growth at all levels.

Oversee merchandise presentation in line with company standards, ensuring correct signage, pricing, and product flow.

Manage backroom inventory, handle priority items, and monitor freight movement to the sales floor.

Check incoming shipments for pricing accuracy, report any discrepancies, and complete daily manifest checks.

Process packaways, return to Warehouse shipments, transfers, recalls, and returns per company policies.

Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are consistently upheld.

When required, supervise overall store operations, including opening and closing duties.

Operate the cash register when needed.

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of professional experience in other retail environments required.
- Prior customer service experience, training experience, and prior merchandise ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintenance experience in other retail environments are preferred.
- Computer skills (i.e., Google platform, including, but not limited to, Email, Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Qlik).
- Availability to work as needed by the business, including nights and weekends.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Work Environment:
- Work primarily in an air-conditioned environment with minimal safety and health hazard potential. This position requires extended periods of moving, remaining stationary, ascending, descending, and positioning oneself to complete various tasks throughout the shift.
- Some sedentary activities and near vision use for reading and computer use.
- Responsible for physical activities including using hand tools, ascending or descending a ladder, moving, reaching, and lifting frequently: Should be able to lift 35 lbs regularly.

The pay range for this position is $18.00- $21.00/ hour and is based on experience.
